naturalversary - month one. (HELP!)

hi all!

so today marks the the one month anniversary of going natural and i must say, that it has been a great journey thus far. i have noticed growth since the big chop and lots of cute curls sprouting up from everywhere, but now i'm trying to maintain a solid regimen for my natural hair.

let's rewind, shall we?

here's my hair the day of the big chop...

and here it is today - see that growth right therre?! *lol*

now that i'm officially a natural diva, i'm now in the process of coming up with a solid regimen for my taking care of my hair. i'm talked to a few friends who do have natural hair as well as read many blogs by lovely ladies with natural hair, and while it's extremely liberating to have chemical-free locks,
it's also overwhelming to decide what to maintain them! there are so many products out there to choose from, but i've take the advice of some good people and this is my regimen so far...

  • i co-wash my hair every other day with herbal essences totally twisted conditioner ( i just switched from suave's almond & shea butter conditioner)
  • after patting my hair dry, i use cantu shea butter leave in conditioner
  • to style it, i use eco-styler gel (the pink kind)
  • and of course, i put a satin bonnet on every night :)
and that's it! on the days that i don't wash my hair, i keep it moisturized by spraying a water & olive oil mixture on it and put a little gel in it. i've got two flower pins that i alternate to stick in my hair on the left side--just to let my personality shine through. while this mini regimen has been cool up to this point, it's time for me to switch it up. i'm now on the look out for things that can make my hair shiny, but at the same time keep it moisturized. also, i'm looking for a good shampoo that i can wash my hair with once every two weeks and something to seal my hair with as i twist it. i've heard that mizani's coconut soufle is pretty good and carol's daughter has a great line of products too. and now that the weather is going to be changing soon, i've got to have a solid regimen for the fall and winter.

any suggestions for products or potenial regimens? i will for sure to keep you all updated on my progress on this journey for naturality. =)

☮ and ♥,
